Who we are?
The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).
What is the project?
The Ontario Line (“OL”) is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (“NC”) project consist of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract (“PTUS”), with supporting Early Works.
What is the Opportunity?
The Bull Crew Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all union labour involved in the setup, maintenance, and organization of construction sites. This role ensures that all sites are clean, safe, and prepared for construction activities, while coordinating with labourers and responding to emergencies as needed.
- Ensure all sites are set up and maintained in a clean and organized manner, including moving equipment or materials, cleaning roads, controlling dust, and preparing surfaces for construction activities in all seasons.
- Move union labour effectively between different construction sites as needed, providing consistent support and coordination across locations.
- Oversee and coordinate work of labourers, ensuring they perform on schedule and in accordance with safety protocols and union agreements.
- Ensure labourers operate basic construction equipment and tools only as qualified, following proper safety procedures while verifying training records.
- Respond to and work during emergencies to ensure the safety and continuity of site operations.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisor and team members to balance labour resources while ensuring smooth workflow and project progress among competing demands.
- Perform other related duties as assigned including detailed work ticket or timesheet reviews, promoting a positive team environment and a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Work Conditions:
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driving license G or G2.
- May require working extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet project deadlines.
You’ll bring to the Team (Knowledge, Skills, Competencies)
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant experience may offset educational requirements.
- Knowledge of construction processes, material handling, and site preparation.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in construction or a related field, in large and complex construction project/ industrial project/ logistic project..
- Proven ability to manage multiple locations and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Problem-solving and organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Attention to details, strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
