General description:

Plans, directs, coordinates and controls activities of custom shop drawings activities and team to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame, quality and funding parameters.

Job Description:

• Supervise the millwork drafting team
• Attend PM to drafting hand over Attend hand over meetings
• Schedule drafters work according to Company's priorities
• Support drafters in their work (questions etc.)
• Verify shop drawings for quality and accuracy
• Update and maintain the schedule daily
• Analyze all drafting Work orders received from PM's
• Review Red line demands of pm before assigning the work to drafters
• Work closely with Project managers in the preparation of the production drawings and collaborate with the production facility managers in creating complex drawings
• Request RCO/CO numbers from PM's for extras to contract generated from the AAN drawings
• Check budgeted drafting hours manage time budget for the work scheduled
• Conduct disciplinary action in the department if required
• Maintain a good working environment in the department
• Conduct Interviews of new drafting candidates for future needs
• Participate in the Drafting Standards Library Maintain the drafting standards manual
• Offer a fast, accurate and professional service to the PM & the production facility
• Continual Cost Savings in the department
• Conduct monthly meeting within the department for continual improvement and participate in meetings with company management team.

Qualifications:

• More than 10 years of experience of relevant experience in architectural millwork drawings
• Must be well organized
• Solid supervision and communication skills
• Excellent proficiency of AutoCAD software application
• Good knowledge of Inventor is an asset
• English and French
