Location: Calgary, AB
Type: Contract
Rate: CAD50/hr - CAD60/hr
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to support the reliable operation and continuous improvement of assets within pipeline or industrial systems. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing maintenance and capital programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and support teams, leveraging strong technical, project management, and communication skills to successfully deliver projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) projects, with a focus on process safety-critical equipment
- Oversee maintenance and capital projects to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and corporate standards
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts in collaboration with Project Controls and support teams
- Direct and coordinate the activities of external contractors and consultants to ensure timely and quality execution
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align project objectives, expectations, and deliverables
- Optimize resource allocation to support field execution and implementation activities
- Analyze program data to identify efficiency improvements, cost savings, and data integrity enhancements
- Support the development and continuous improvement of project management tools, processes, and standards
- Ensure effective communication and reporting across all project phases
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant project management experience, preferably in maintenance, capital projects, or industrial environments
- Working knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, manage competing priorities, and quickly learn new systems and processes
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, technical diploma, or equivalent project management training (e.g., PMP or similar)
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes without formal authority
- Proven skills in leadership, negotiation, delegation, and stakeholder management
- Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., energy, utilities, oil & gas, infrastructure)
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including overnight stays for assignments, meetings, or training
- Ability to work across multiple locations and support field operations as needed
