About The RolePlease note: This is a temporary 15 month term opportunity, with a potential for extension. This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means being in the office a minimum of once per quarter. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities. As ATB’s next Senior Product Manager, Issuing and Acquiring Products (15 months), you are a visionary with exceptional ability to execute while listening to our clients and team members. You bring expertise to your jobs to be done and problems to be solved, ensuring a balance between end users and enterprise objectives. You understand debit card experiences, people, process, technology, and innovation as well as the fine thread that binds all these together to drive value for ATB clients. You will work closely with experts in product management, design, research, vendors, legal, operations, technical resources and inspire others to build experiences clients love. You build actionable plans to manage through the product life cycle through listening to clients, aligning with senior partners and leaders in Everyday Financial Services, driving delivery of products our clients need. You will help maximize the potential and adoption of debit cards by establishing performance benchmarks, usage metrics that drive KPIs and growth. You’ll be curious and understand trends, anticipate market needs and monitor the competition. Accountabilities
- Gain a deep understanding of ATB client debit card and other retail financial products experiences to identify and help fill product gaps, generate new ideas that increase use, and improve client experience.
- Lead the end-to-end product development life cycle: concept, business case, product requirements, user story, development, delivery and refinements for card products.
- Create buy-in for product vision with key internal partners.
- Create and maintain product strategy, vision and roadmap for iterations against client and business outcomes.
- Drive product improvements or new product launch including working cross-functionally with relevant teams and stakeholder groups to support the product throughout the product life cycle.
- Act as enterprise SME debit card projects; accountable for delivering annual objectives.
- Monitor corresponding vendor projects, compliance and timelines to ensure high quality execution.
- Deliver feasible, viable and desirable client experience for product and/or product line by leveraging data insights, partners, and stakeholders.
- Manage multiple products/projects and be the “go to “ person for your products including breaking down large goals into tactical steps to demonstrate value and learn to inform future goals.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- 3+ years of Product Management experience, with a deep understanding of Debit Card experiences, Payments, or other Core Banking products (ie Deposit Accounts)
- Hands-on experience collaborating with Payment Networks, Processors, and Digital Wallet providers to translate complex technical specs into business requirements.
- Proven ability to manage the end-to-end Product Life Cycle, from initial business case and user stories to deployment and post-launch refinement.
- Proficient in leveraging Jira and Confluence for agile delivery, Smartsheet for project orchestration, and Tableau for data-informed decision-making.
- Expert at defining high-impact product visions and documenting roadmaps that balance client needs with enterprise objectives.
- Skilled at breaking down large, ambiguous goals into tactical, actionable steps to demonstrate incremental value.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to manage project budgets, assess competitive risks, and ensure the feasibility and viability of the product suite.
- A master communicator who can build buy-in with senior leadership and influence cross-functional teams (Legal, Risk, Marketing) without direct authority.
- A reflective leader who actively seeks out industry trends and attends conferences to bring "outside-in" innovation to ATB.
- Experience leading design thinking or strategy sessions to align diverse groups on a shared path forward.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment; proactive, transparent, and capable of load-balancing multiple workstreams under tight timelines.
- A passion for writing tutorials and sharing knowledge with the team to elevate the collective product management craft.
