Competition # 168 -25-713505516Posting End Date: June 02, 2025 City: Winnipeg Work Location: MacCharles Department: Outpatient Clinic Services Program Union: MNU Hiring Status: Permanent Anticipated Start Date: ASAP FTE: 1.0 Anticipated Shift: Days Daily Hours Worked: 7.75 Annual Base Hours: 2015 Hourly Salary: $44.241, $45.760, $47.312, $48.878, $50.372, $51.958, $53.280, $54.344 Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Unit Manager, the CRN is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of patient care with respect to clinics and/or systemic therapy services at CancerCare Manitoba – Winnipeg Ambulatory Oncology Sites. The CRN provides direct nursing care and assumes a leadership role within the day to day operations of the designated units within the Winnipeg Ambulatory Oncology Sites to ensure optimal patient care outcomes and resource utilization. The CRN acts as a clinical resource, using his/her clinical expertise to guide and mentor the unit staff (nurses and support staff) at the specified Winnipeg Ambulatory Oncology Sites to promote evidence informed best practice and patient safety. The incumbent must be available to support other units as operationally necessary. Nursing staff work with cytotoxic and hazardous medications on a regular basis. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and training are provided. Qualifications Requirements:

  • Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall bein accordance with the applicable CCMB policy
  • Strong understanding of patient-centered care
  • Proficient with MS Word/Outlook and internet use
  • Ability to perform physical activities (i.e. lifting and transporting of patients, equipment to other areas, etc.)
  • Ability to travel between the various Winnipeg Ambulatory Oncology sites
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada

Will Be Assessed During The Interview

  • Strong critical problem solving, decision making, and quick intervention skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and to facilitate patient/family functioning throughout their cancer experience
  • Demonstrated teaching and leadership skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Minimal five (5) years recent Oncology nursing experience
  • Previous experience in chemotherapy and IV administration
  • Certified Oncology Nurse [CON(C)]
  • Experience in ambulatory and chemotherapy treatment unit settings
  • Experience with electronic charting
  • Ability to speak French
