Role Description The Project Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in North Vancouver, BC. This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for piling and deep foundation projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, conducting quantity takeoffs, analyzing bids, and collaborating with project managers and engineers to refine estimates. The Project Estimator will develop and maintain project budgets, track cost changes, and support bid submissions and tender documentation. The role also involves communicating estimate assumptions to stakeholders, updating cost databases, and supporting continuous improvement in estimating processes and tools. Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Construction Estimating and Project Estimation skills, with experience preparing detailed estimates for foundation or heavy civil projects.
- Candidates should possess solid Cost Management and Budgeting skills, including tracking project costs, forecasting, and supporting financial decision-making.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and clients, and clearly present estimate findings.
- Relevant education such as a diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is beneficial.
- Proficiency with estimating software, MS Excel, and reading construction drawings and specifications is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Prior experience in piling, deep foundations, or heavy construction environments in Western Canada is an asset.
