The Architectural Technologist will be responsible for performing day-to-day tasks with a focus on precision and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Transform conceptual and schematic designs into detailed construction documents using Revit.
- Review drawings to ensure compliance with established specifications and standards and perform routine drafting and technical tasks as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to the preparation of schematic designs, design development, construction documentation and any supplementary drawings.
- Assist in maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with office production requirements, including format and special specifications.
- Coordinate working drawing information with Senior Technologists and support the Project Lead in the integration of construction documents across all relevant disciplines.
- Utilize Revit to produce 3D models and drawings as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as architectural technology or another related program, is required.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience working in architectural technology or a related discipline.
- Certification in CTTAM and/or ABTAM will be considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of architectural drafting/design experience within the commercial or residential sectors is preferred.
- High proficiency in Revit, including 3D modelling and producing construction documentation from 3D models.
- Previous experience using relevant design software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, zoning regulations and standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in reviewing and coordinating structural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a creative approach to finding solutions.
- Capable of meeting strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality work standards.
