We’re hiring: Educational Assistant 2 Support students in their learning journey and make a lasting impact. Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 2 for a work assignment at Bon Accord Community School. Bon Accord Community School offers K-4 programming and is located approximately 20 minutes north of the City of Edmonton in the Town of Bon Accord. The school has a student population of approximately 240 students and a dedicated teaching and support staff working together as a team to provide exemplary education to all students. The school nurtures a safe and caring environment through offering various programs to encourage strong leadership. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements. What You’ll Be Doing Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will:
- Support students across a range of grades and learning needs
- Assist with academic, social, and behavioural development
- Provide individualised and small-group support as needed
- Contribute to a caring, inclusive, and culturally respectful learning environment
- Collaborate with school staff to promote student success and well-being
What You Bring
- Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate
- Experience supporting students with Autism or behavioural needs
- CPR and First Aid
- Training or experience in behaviour support, TCIS, developmental and emotional regulation strategies
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Flexibility, patience, and a student-centred approach
- Equivalencies combining education, knowledge, and experience may be considered
- Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector check
