Description Job Description Shared Health Diagnostic Services and the Section of Nuclear Medicine, Department of Radiology, University of Manitoba, invite applications for Nuclear Medicine physicians with special interest/expertise in nuclear medicine to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba. Main job duties include supervision and interpretation of examinations, commitment to high quality patient care, teaching (undergraduate and post graduate) and consulting with other physicians as required. Job duties are required in English. HSC is the largest tertiary health care centre in Manitoba. As an operating division of the Shared Health Authority, HSC provides comprehensive diagnostic, outpatient (ambulatory) and inpatient services, including being the designated regional trauma centre, which supports the physical, medical and emotional needs of the people and communities we serve. HSC also provides care for cancer patients with our partner, CancerCare Manitoba, located on the HSC campus. HSC provides approximately 250,000 DI services per year, of which ~ 10,000 are Nuclear Medicine including state of the art SPECT/CT and PET/CT, and an maintains on-site cyclotron. HSC performs NM therapeutics such as Radium and Lutathera, and potentially Pluvicto and Y-90 radioemboliztion in the future. HSC is the also the clinical and research neuroscience centre for the province. St. Boniface Hospital is a major university-affiliated centre involved in patient care, teaching and research. As a tertiary care facility and home to the regional Cardiac Sciences Program, the Hospital maintains a core of clinical activities, including: anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, family practice, geriatric medicine, laboratory medicine, medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pathology, outpatient pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery. The Nuclear Medicine program oversees a unique provincial bone mineral density testing program with the largest population-based database of clinical DXA database in the world (~200,000 examinations). This valuable research resource has over 250 peer-reviewed publications. The St. Boniface Hospital Nuclear Medicine program also has active research programs in thyroid cancer and cardiovascular imaging, and extensive collaborations with the world-renowned Manitoba Centre for Health Policy. The University of Manitoba is a major research university located in the city of Winnipeg. The city has a rich cultural environment with symphony, opera, dance, theatre and ethnic festivals. The region also provides ample opportunities for outdoor recreation in all seasons. For more information see: http://www.destinationwinnipeg.ca/ Qualifications The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Nuclear Medicine. The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Dual-certification in Radiology, hybrid imaging experience, post-residency fellowship training and/or research experience would be an asset. Compensation Compensation is derived from highly competitive fee-for-service income, with no overhead or tithe. Specialty Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive.
