Position Overview Under the general direction of the Software Operations Supervisor or senior technical staff, the incumbent will provide quality customer service in the delivery of assistance and support for various Modern Digital Workplace (MDW) applications with a focus on Microsoft 365 (M365) based business solutions. The list of MDW applications includes MS Office 365, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and MIRO This position requires the incumbent to be a liaison with business users on day-to-day activities related to MDW product support. The individual will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the section's help desk procedures, assisting with testing of technology upgrades, and contributing to the usage and performance monitoring processes of MDW support. Responsibilities

  • Analyze client MDW requirements and recommend MDW based business solutions.
  • Provide client support and consulting, and problem resolution to end-user problems and service requests for all corporate clients for the MDW product offerings.
  • Prepare and coordinate MDW documentation for training, support, work arounds and resolution for client requests and problems.
  • Work with project teams on analysis and support requirements for new releases of MDW Software.
  • Lead and/or assist in future technology upgrade planning and deployment initiatives of MDW Software.
  • Lead and/or assist with testing upgrades and new releases of MDW Software.
  • Promote product awareness and competent use of MDW Support Technology.
  • Lead and/or assist with problem management on major/critical incidents involving MDW products.
  • Actively participate in the MDW Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Stay current with MDW product technology.
  • Work after hours on request.

Qualifications

  • A four year degree in Computer Science from a university of recognized standing plus two years of technical support experience
  • OR
  • A two year diploma in Computer Programming Technology from an institute of recognized standing plus four years of technical support experience.
  • Analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret MDW business problems and recommend comprehensive solutions.
  • Proven ability in performing problem solving responsibilities and follow-up.
  • Strong personal computer technical skills with an advanced skill set and a demonstrated ability to keep up-to-date with technology trends.
  • Current MDW and related software technology knowledge (e.g. MS Office including Word, Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, OneDrive, MIRO and Adobe Acrobat).
  • Requires working knowledge of standard Windows operating systems both desktop and server.
  • Requires working knowledge of corporate document management platforms (SharePoint, OneDrive, Shared Drives, others).
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint design, collaboration and document life cycle management principles.
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles and the ITIL Foundation module is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills, with demonstrated customer service and client support skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver end-user support documentation.
  • Remain knowledgeable in area of technical responsibility and be prepared to attend technical training to keep skills and knowledge current.
  • Experience in participating in various types and sizes of Information Technology projects.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Analytical with demonstrated ability to prioritize work.
  • Able to handle confidential information with security.
  • Obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro policy P513.
  • Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training is required and must be completed prior to transfer date and renewed annually.

Salary Range Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $37.85-$52.37 Hourly, $72,521.80-$100,347.78 Annually. Apply Now!
