Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is at the forefront of building the REE industry right here in Saskatchewan and we’re looking for a Handover Package Coordinator to be part of constructing our Rare Earth Processing Facility. This role is well suited to candidates with a technical background and experience working around industrial equipment, reading technical drawings, connecting field conditions with turnover documentation and are looking to contribute to a large scale project through maintaining handover documentation, tracking package readiness, and coordinating turnover activities from construction to commissioning. Accountabilities

  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, quality, and commissioning teams to define turnover boundaries, package content, acceptance criteria, and handover priorities for mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and process systems
  • Review inspection and test records, redlines, punch lists, and supporting documentation to verify packages are ready for handover
  • Perform walkdowns to access construction completeness, equipment readiness and redline the Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Prepare, apply, and maintain approved handover procedures, workflows, templates, and checklists to support a consistent and auditable turnover process across the project
  • Track package status from mechanical completion through turnover, highlighting missing documents, quality gaps, overdue inspections, and unresolved deficiencies
  • Organize and support kick off meetings, walkdowns, and readiness reviews with stakeholders to validate package completeness and agree on transfer of custody
  • Verify handover documentation against project standards, regulatory requirements, quality expectations, and commissioning systemization strategy and flag discrepancies for resolution
  • Identify and escalate bottlenecks, interface issues, and documentation risks in accordance with established escalation paths and support follow-up actions to minimize impacts to commissioning activities

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in a technical field related to mechanical, electrical, piping, or instrumentation work, a combination of relevant skills and experience will be considered
  • 1-3 years experience supporting engineering or commissioning documentation or handover activities
  • Experience reading or working with P&IDs, single-line diagrams, layout drawings, equipment lists, inspection records
  • Experience working with document management systems and structured workflows is an asset

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including drawings, equipment tags, inspection records, redlines, punch lists, and turnover package requirements
  • Strong organizational and document control skills
  • Effective communication skills to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision using established procedures
  • Attention to detail and ability to resolve routine to moderately complex issues

The chosen candidate will also be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties.
