Commodity Specialist

Our client is a leading not‑for‑profit organization driving recycling innovation across British Columbia and is currently looking to grow.

They are looking for a Commodity Marketing Specialist to support the movement of recyclable materials from facilities to approved end markets—ensuring efficient, transparent, and reliable material flow across the province.

Main duties:

• Coordinate daily allocation and transportation of recyclable commodities from RFs/MRFs to end‑market partners
• Build strong relationships with end markets and brokers
• Monitor contamination trends and material quality
• Troubleshoot logistics issues with internal teams and external partners
• Maintain accurate chain‑of‑custody and operational reporting
• Track domestic and international market trends
• Support process improvements, data dashboards, and post‑collection projects (including GHG initiatives)

Key skills:

• Post‑secondary education in environmental studies, engineering, logistics, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years’ experience in logistics, operations, supply chain, or environmental programs
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities
• Experience with CRM/TMS systems is an asset
• Comfortable working with technical issues, inspections, or client‑facing operational challenges
