Our client is a beloved Vancouver non-profit that sparks curiosity and fosters learning through immersive, creative programs. Known for its meaningful public experiences and educational outreach, the organization has built a lasting reputation for inspiring discovery within the community. We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee all AP, AR, deposit and financial reporting functions.

Responsibilities_Financial Oversight and Reporting_:

  • Supervise Accounts Payable, Receivable, Deposit, and Financial Reporting functions.
  • Prepare financial statements, month-end and year-end working papers, and support the annual audit.
  • Review and submit statutory returns (e.g., PST, GST) and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with financial forecasts, annual budget preparation, and related reporting tasks.

Reconciliation and Processing:

  • Complete complex bank reconciliations and prepare accruals, prepaids, and payroll-related accounts.
  • Record and reconcile membership deferrals and grants, including related reporting and annual charity return compilation (T3010).

Payroll and Employee Data Management:

  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, issue ROEs, T-4 forms, and maintain employee information in the company’s database.

System and Transaction Oversight:

  • Perform invoice approvals, audit transactions (e.g., expense claims), and record investment transactions.
  • Oversee attendance reporting, system maintenance, and identify enhancement opportunities.

Compliance and Administrative Support:

  • Contribute to grant reporting and reconciliations, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Assist with special projects and administrative tasks, optimizing operational processes across the organization.

Qualifications

  • CPA Designation
  • 1+ year of working with Non Profit organizations and expertise reporting in ASNPO
  • Sage 300
  • Payroll expertise
