Position: Communications Advisor

Location: Downtown Toronto

Schedule: Hybrid (1–2 days on-site per week)

Job Type: 8-month contract to start, with potential for extension or permanent hire

A leading financial technology firm is looking for a Communications Advisor to support internal, external, and crisis communication initiatives. In this role, you’ll create clear, engaging content across various platforms to support company goals, enhance employee engagement, and strengthen brand voice. We’re looking for a strong writer and collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:- Support internal communications by creating newsletters, announcements, presentations, and intranet content.

- Work with HR and other departments to execute communications plans that support strategic and cultural goals.

- Use internal tools to share messages and track engagement.

- Collaborate with designers to ensure materials align with brand guidelines.

- Draft and edit external content, including social posts, web copy, newsletters, and presentations.

- Coordinate bilingual communications and email distributions.

- Assist with crisis communications, including incident messaging and post-event reviews.

Qualifications:- Diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

- 1–3 years of experience in a communications role.

- Experience or training in developing communication plans and content for multiple channels.

- Background in financial services or tech is an asset.

- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress or a willingness to learn quickly.

- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
