Join Nasittuq for a unique and rewarding experience! Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON. Scope The Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable clerk is responsible for processing of invoices and the production of cheques for all Nasittuq projects. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our Finance team with day to day operations and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail orientated and motivated, has a solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes and is eager to learn and grow. Responsibilities
- Enter supplier invoices into the Oracle payables system.
- Prepare and check all supplier invoices for accuracy.
- Process and remit employee expense reports on a weekly basis.
- Prepare and complete cheque runs for supplier payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor enquiries.
- Research and resolve discrepancies and issues.
- Process all invoices for NWS expenses for payment.
- Data entry into the Oracle financial accounts payable module on a daily basis.
- Filing payable documentation on a weekly basis.
- Manage the Accounts Payable email box
- Performs other duties/projects as assigned, to support the overall program and mission, and other initiatives of Nasittuq.
QualificationsEXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role in an accounting environment
Education
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Post-secondary education in accounting is an asset
Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles
Competencies/Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Strong time management skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively communicate and contribute within a team environment.
- Adaptability and ability to manage priorities with diligence and work cross-culturally.
Desired Qualifications/Experience
- Previous Oracle experience is an asset.
