We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to support the JIMS 3.0 (Justice Information Management System) initiative with the Government of Alberta.
📍 Location: Edmonton, Alberta / Primarily Remote
🏢 Onsite Requirement: Approximately 15% in Edmonton
🇨🇦 Work Location: Must be within Canada

About the Project
JIMS 3.0 is a major data integration and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) initiative focused on consolidating multiple court-data marts into a modern, integrated reporting architecture.
The Senior Data Architect will work across data architecture, dimensional modelling, data profiling, ETL, data warehousing, testing, and Power BI reporting.
Key Experience Required
✅ 5+ years of experience defining Data Architecture and applying Kimball dimensional modelling principles
✅ Strong experience with Data Warehousing, Facts, Dimensions, ETL, data profiling and data mapping
✅ 2+ years of experience working in or with public-sector environments
✅ Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline
✅ Structured Query Language (SQL) training/experience
✅ Recent training related to Cloud Computing
Highly Preferred
⭐ 5+ years with data modelling tools such as SAP/Sybase PowerDesigner or similar
⭐ Experience with JOIN (Justice Online Information Network) and JIMS
⭐ Experience within court or justice environments
⭐ Knowledge of information management and cybersecurity policies
⭐ Strong stakeholder communication and architecture consulting skills
⭐ Experience developing/testing Power BI reports
Candidates must be willing to attend onsite meetings in Edmonton when required and must be eligible to complete the required security clearances.
