We are hiring a Controller for a fast-growing, global manufacturing company headquartered in Delta, BC. This organization operates in a highly specialized industrial sector, producing mission-critical equipment for professional and government clients around the world. Known for its engineering excellence, customization capabilities, and operational scale, the company is in the midst of significant expansion, now operating across four facilities with over 220 employees. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role within a complex, globally integrated manufacturing environment experiencing rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, month-end and year-end closing, and financial reporting.
- Ensure complete financial accuracy within the ERP and BI tool — no reliance on offline or Excel-based reporting.
- Drive strong cost accounting practices, including WIP tracking, inventory reconciliation, and analysis of manufacturing variances.
- Work closely with production and operations to ensure accurate reflection of BOMs (Bill of Materials), labour hours, and cost allocations in the ERP.
- Manage a finance team of 4 while collaborating with global finance teams.
- Improve internal financial controls and identify gaps in areas like AR matching, AP cutoffs, and sub-ledger reconciliation.
- Support business leadership with operational insights, enforce financial discipline, and challenge decisions when necessary.
- Proactively communicate with the Group Controller in Europe, ensuring transparency and timely escalation of issues.
- Ensure on-time month-end and year-end closes, with a disciplined and systematic approach to financial management.
- Maintain a hands-on leadership style, stepping in to support and mentor the accounting team as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- CPA designation required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Controller role, ideally within a complex manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Deep cost accounting expertise including WIP valuation, BOM accuracy, and tracking of labour/material variances.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and BI tools.
- Demonstrated success managing inventory controls, cost analysis, and financial process optimization.
- Able to work 100% onsite in Delta, BC.
- Proven leadership experience managing small, high-performing finance teams.
- Naturally curious, proactive, and hands-on, with a passion for understanding how financial data connects to industrial workflows.
