Metlen Energy and Metals is seeking a highly skilled Energy Origination Analyst to join our M Renewables team in Canada. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the team in advancing and executing renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). This is a role where curiosity meets storytelling and is perfect for someone who enjoys digging into the data and shaping it into a compelling narrative. 

Your Role Will Encompass: 

• Profiling potential offtakers and researching corporate buyers (their business, their credit rating and their sustainability goals)
• Tracking the market. Conducting Canada and US market research, monitoring trends, regulations and competitor activity to inform origination strategy 
• Telling stories, transforming insights into polished Powerpoint decks, briefing notes and presentations 
• Supporting execution by coordinating inputs across development, finance, operations and legal
• Tracking PPA terms and obligations, monitoring compliance and support portfolio reporting activities 
• Providing active contribution to smooth deal execution and PPA portfolio reporting, managing documents, tracking versions and maintaining clean records of contracts and deal files 

What you Bring to the Role:

• 2+ years of relevant experience in sustainability, renewable energy, power markets, corporate finance or consulting highly preferred
• Excellent research and analytical skills with an ability to translate findings into actionable insights.
• Detail-oriented and data-driven with strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and macros.
• A PowerPoint wizard with proven ability to create visually engaging slide decks.
• Motivated self-starter capable of operating with minimal supervision
• Exposure to electricity, power & energy, renewable energy is preferred
• Proficiency in using tools like SharePoint and Microsoft Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
• Fluent English speaker.
