We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our Head Office in Etobicoke. As an important member of our team, the Litigation Legal Assistant will play a key role in supporting our lawyers and ensuring the seamless operation of their practice. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, with demonstrated proficiency in litigation.
What you will be doing:
- Collaborate in the preparation and compilation of litigation documents, including affidavits, notices, motion records, and court forms
- Manage communication with process servers and coordinate the service and filing of court materials
- Liaise with court offices to schedule hearings and manage related court filings
- Draft and edit various correspondences and documents, including memos, letters, and legal documents
- Provide administrative support such as docket entries, file openings and closures, billing coordination, and expense processing
- Maintain organized and current physical and electronic file systems
- Act as a liaison between lawyers and internal/external parties to support file progression and communication
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in legal administration or equivalent with a minimum of two years of litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and court processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- High level of professionalism and attention to confidentiality
