Job Information Job Title: Senior Systems Analyst Job Requisition ID: 77622 Ministry: Assisted Living and Social Services Location: Edmonton Full or Part-Time: Full Time Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week Permanent/Temporary: Temporary Salaried Scope: Temporary Closing Date: December 22, 2025 Classification: Systems Analyst Level 2 Salary: $3,115.21 to $4,277.3 bi-weekly ($81,306 - $111,637/year) The Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services leads housing, assisted living and continuing care, seniors, income, employment and homelessness supports, disability services, and other social-based programs. The Licensing and Compliance Monitoring branch is responsible for monitoring and inspecting Continuing Care Homes, Supportive Living Accommodations and Home and Community Care for compliance to legislated standards under the Continuing Care Act. The branch is also responsible for licensing, complaints, incidents and reporting in the continuing care sector. Role Responsibilities As a Senior Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring the accessibility, security, and optimal performance of our enterprise data systems. You will perform a wide range of senior-level database administration tasks to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient data access across the organization. In this role you will also provide support for online systems and associated services, ensuring operational stability. As a Senior System Analyst, you will be reviewing database systems to ensure full compliance with design specifications, branch standards, and departmental policies. Evaluating new database products, tools, and technologies to identify opportunities for cost-effective service improvements and modernization. You will be acting as a senior technical lead on major system enhancement projects, offering expert guidance throughout the project lifecycle. You will also consult with maintenance and development teams to promote optimal use of existing database environments and software within Correctional Services. Ensuring peak performance of branch application systems through planned monitoring, performance tuning, and proactive issue resolution. To be successful in this role you will provide multi-functional system support and serving as a senior technical resource to address ongoing operational requirements. Education As the Senior Systems Analyst, in addition to your education and experience, you will demonstrate well-honed competencies in the following areas:

Qualifications Minimum Recruitment Standards University graduation in computer science or a related discipline plus two years related experience; or equivalent as described. A related two-year diploma in computer technology or a related discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution and four years related experience; or a related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and five years related experience. Assets

  • Information Technology (IT) experience with complex computer systems including system architecture, technological system requirements and support.
  • Previous experience with new software configuration and implementation for a large organization.
  • Previous experience in continuing care or health sectors.
  • Previous experience with compliance inspections and monitoring, licensing, complaints, incidents and reporting.

This is a full-time temporary position based in Edmonton ending on March 31, 2028.
