Job Description Are you an experienced engineering or project management professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments? Join our team as an Advisor, Engineering Contracts and play a critical role in delivering one of Canada's most significant shipbuilding programs. As a trusted advisor within the Engineering team, you'll lead and manage contract-related activities that support the successful delivery of major engineering programs, while working closely with Engineering, Technical, Supply Chain, Planning, Production, and Program stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Manage and execute engineering contract deliverables and project activities
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, affiliates, partners, and customers
- Develop processes, plans, and reporting to support program execution
- Prepare executive-level reports and recommendations
- Ensure contract objectives align with broader business and program goals
- Drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across assigned initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's degree considered an asset)
- 8+ years of leadership experience in Engineering, Project Management, or complex program delivery
- Experience in shipbuilding, defense, manufacturing, oil & gas, or other large-scale industrial environments
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead complex projects and influence across multiple business functions
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is an asset
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
