Senior Financial Reporting & Consolidation Specialist (12-Month Contract)
π Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (Hybrid β 2-3 days onsite)
π Duration: 12-Month Contract with possibility of extension
Our client, a well-established and growing organization, is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting & Consolidation Specialist to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a designated CPA, CA who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in financial reporting, consolidations, external reporting, and full-cycle accounting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing consolidated financial statements, external reporting packages, and month-end reporting while partnering with stakeholders across the organization to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Lead the financial consolidation process across multiple legal entities.
- Prepare external financial reporting packages, including MD&A, financial statement notes, and supporting disclosures.
- Coordinate quarter-end and year-end reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Perform full-cycle accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide insightful commentary to management.
- Prepare audit working papers and liaise with external auditors throughout quarterly and annual audits.
- Research and interpret accounting standards and assist with the implementation of new accounting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, improve efficiencies, and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate with finance and business partners on reporting initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- CPA, CA designation is required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
- Proven experience preparing consolidated financial statements.
- Strong external reporting experience, including preparation of MD&A, financial statement notes, and related disclosures.
- Thorough understanding of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
