We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst – Inventory to play a key role in ensuring accurate inventory costing and financial reporting that supports our mission to serve communities nationwide.
About the Role
As part of our Finance and Corporate Services team, you’ll lead inventory financial management and reporting processes, ensuring compliance, precision, and efficiency. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on analyzing complex data, improving processes, and collaborating across departments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead inventory accounting: Oversee all aspects of inventory cost management and financial controls to maintain accuracy and integrity.
- Provide actionable insights: Analyze inventory and costing data across programs, turning complex information into clear recommendations.
- Ensure reporting excellence: Prepare and manage internal and external inventory-related financial reports in compliance with standards and policies.
- Support audits: Act as the primary contact for auditors on inventory matters, providing reconciliations and documentation.
- Drive process improvements: Identify and implement enhancements to strengthen controls and improve reporting efficiency.
- Coordinate national inventory counts: Monitor annual counts across Canada, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with finance and operational teams to deliver integrated insights that add organizational value.
What We’re Looking For
- Post-secondary education in accounting or finance & a recognized Canadian accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including inventory costing expertise.
- Strong knowledge of costing concepts and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, or strong technical aptitude to learn quickly.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Ability to research accounting standards and recommend best practices.
