Hardline Engineering is currently looking for a full-time, one-year contract HR and Recruitment Specialist to join our team! Reporting to the President, Engineering, this role plays a key part in attracting top talent and delivering comprehensive HR support to employees, managers, and executives across Hardline Engineering, Firefly Power and Energy, and Sparrow Power Corp.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the full recruitment lifecycle of positions within the company, including but not limited to: developing and posting open jobs on the website and online resources, ability to screen and complete the first interview with candidates, coordinate additional interviews for the leadership team, verify employment eligibility through reference and background checks, and provide job offers to successful candidates.
- Maintain and develop a pipeline of qualified candidates using online resources and job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.), or participating in Campus Job Fairs, etc.
- Have a digital presence and actively source top talent (both in person and online) on a regular basis.
- Lead competitive market research to monitor compensation and benefits in the market to ensure the company is able to attract and retain top talent.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for all new hires.
- Administer benefit programs – enrollments, changes and reconciliations.
- Administer pension plans and employee changes.
- Manage and maintain accurate employee records including employee files, job offers, compensation adjustments, overtime, vacation and leave balances, work anniversaries and milestones, performance reviews, employee relations matters, etc.
- Maintain and update the company’s employee handbook that outlines all current employee benefits/compensation, HR policies and other employee resources.
- Manage probationary and annual performance review processes in a timely manner.
- Work with the business leaders with respect to the Performance Management Process and employee performance related issues as required, including any performance improvement plans.
- Ensure Offboarding and Exit Interview processes are followed, and reporting is provided to the President and other key stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Work with the President and other key stakeholders to effectively execute employment terminations.
- Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with all members of staff to ensure employee engagement.
- Work in collaboration with the President and other key stakeholders to pro-actively manage succession planning and ongoing training and development.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education in a related business discipline and completion of courses towards a Human Resources certificate/designation.
- 3+ years of knowledge and experience in recruitment and talent acquisition.
- Knowledge of all relevant provincial employment legislation, such as the Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, etc.
- Solid Knowledge of HR practices and proven experience to develop procedures related to recruiting, on-boarding and employee relations.
- Demonstrates Emotional Intelligence and builds trust, strong relationships and networking skills.
- Strong verbal, written communication and active listening skills with all levels of the company.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with internal and external customers, stakeholders and co-workers.
- Excellent organizational skills that demonstrates the ability to resolve conflicting priorities.
- Proficiency with computers including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
