Hatchery Supervisor – EdmontonGrowth Opportunity!Position Summary Reporting to the Hatchery Manager the Hatchery Production Supervisor is accountable to manage the hatchery operations. This position coordinates with various departments within the Hatchery to ensure deliveries run efficiently and commitments to customers are met. The position in coordination with the Quality Assurance Manager will operate the hatchery in the Managers absence. Key Accountabilities
- Assist in the implementation of HACCP and Safety programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations to minimize industrial injuries and meet regulatory requirements for all union/non-union employees.
- Accountable for the effective utilization of Human resources in the hatchery. Ensuring appropriate scheduling and staffing levels are in order to assist in achieving Hatchery and the Business Unit operational goals.
- Maintain overall broiler chick and turkey placements and co-ordinate’s deliveries for a multi-species hatchery, including hatching egg transport.
- Assist the Hatchery Manager to develop & implement Lean Processes throughout the Hatchery & practice sustainability to ensure effective and economical operations.
- Implement and lead all hatchery programs including preventative maintenance for all processing equipment, transportation vehicles, incubators and hatchers.
Requirements
- Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment and knowledge of Continuous Improvement initiatives is required.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in supervisory roles is required. An equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered.
- Mechanical and Technical skills required.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets is required.
- Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
