Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Supervisor, Business Accounting, on a permanent basis on our Retail Accounting team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of Senior Accountants, Accounting Technicians and Accounting clerks responsible for providing full cycle accounting services to local co-ops retails; this includes participating in the recruitment process, performance management, and professional development.
  • Lead the accounting team during the year end process to ensure that Financial Statements are presented in accordance with ASPE; this also includes coordinating with internal and external auditors and answer questions the auditors may have.
  • Collaborate with Region Finance and Control Managers to provide system guidance and recommendations on accounting standards.
  • Prepare and operate within the team’s annual plan and budget.

Who you’ll work with:The Team: You will work closely with the finance and accounting professionals across the Co-operative Retailing System and will have a team of direct reports. You will report into the Manager, Local Co-op Accounting, and be part of a team that strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, building relationships and valuing the perspectives of others.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Finance and:

  • Have 6-9 years of relevant, progressively responsible accounting experience with 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business with a major in accounting (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
