- Oversee all accounting processes, as well as financial and banking functions.
- Maintain documented system of accounting policies and procedures for all accounting functions.
- Supervise the preparation of semi-monthly payroll.
- Provide support and mentorship to the finance team, as needed.
- Complete month end reconciliations and as the preparation of the financial reporting package.
- Collaborate with the COO in the development and preparation of all internal management reports, including variance analysis.
- Prepare and deliver custom reports, as required, to support the needs of partner analysis of business operations - including financial and operating metrics.
- Collaborate with the COO in the effective coordination of the annual budgeting process and the period forecasting updates.
- Collaborate with the COO to ensure that ad hoc requests are supported through the organization.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- CPA Accounting Designation, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
- Minimum 10 years accounting experience in progressively senior accounting or financial management roles with at least 4 years’ experience in a public accounting firm.
- Ability to building strong, trusting relationships internally and externally and work effectively and collaboratively in a complex, nuanced, multi-stakeholder, matrixed environment.
- Experience working efficiently and accurately with complex budgets, forecasting, internal transactions. Strong analytical mind that can tie the micro and macro together to make strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional proactive ownership, planning, solution-finding, attention to detail, and project management abilities to excel in a high-performance environment.
- Skilled communicator with a broad range of colleagues and situations, learning and adapting in the moment. Easily connects proactively, 1-1, teams, in person, virtual, informal, formal, etc. Proven ability to lead, manage, and coach a team of finance and accounting colleagues.
- Trusted by all, you have sound professional judgment, integrity, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- Proficient technological ability, including systems such as MS Office 365 (especially Excel), Practice Management (time, billing, accounting platform), QBO, ADP Workforce Now, Caseware (audit, financial reporting, and data analytics system), etc.
- Strong HST and corporate Tax knowledge will be given preferential consideration.
