
Financial Controller

The Finance Controller will be responsible for end-to-end financial management. He/she will architect controls, produce timely reporting, optimize working capital, and provide data-driven recommendations to guide our next phase of expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly close, prepare consolidated financial statements, and present insights to the CEO and owners.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls, policies, and workflows across all business lines to ensure effective operational management.
- Develop detailed budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and scenario analyses.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and banking relationships.
- Manage inventory valuation, costing methods, and periodic audits in collaboration with operations.
- Drive KPI reporting (gross margin, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), inventory turns) and implement dashboards in your chosen ERP/accounting platform.
- Guide pricing, product margins, and capital expenditures to optimize ROI.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax filings, and provincial regulations.
- Mentor and grow a small finance team or external partners as the organization scales.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years in progressive finance roles; 3+ years leading accounting/finance in a multi-unit or multi-product environment.
- Designation preferred: CPA or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with Zoho Books, QuickBooks or mid-market ERP systems.
- Proven track record of building processes in small to mid-sized companies.
- Strong Excel skills; comfortable implementing BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent communication: able to translate complex financial information into clear, concise narratives for non-financial stakeholders.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: CAD 55,000–65,000 (Depends on Experience)
Performance Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary, tied to company and individual KPIs
