Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Senior Payroll Analyst with strong expertise in process improvement and systems optimization to join our client's finance team in Calgary, AB. In this key role, you'll lead payroll operations across Canada and the U.S., enhance existing workflows, and deliver exceptional service to our employees.

Responsibilities:
- Identify and execute opportunities to streamline and automate payroll workflows to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Lead payroll process enhancement initiatives by gathering requirements, coordinating with IT, testing, and ensuring smooth implementation and training.
- Recommend and support system configurations or process changes to optimize efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Monitor integration points between payroll, HRIS, and finance systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
- Communicate system updates, process changes, and payroll initiatives clearly to internal teams.
- Oversee accurate and timely processing of Canadian and U.S. payrolls across multiple pay cycles (bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly).
- Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and state legislation, along with internal policies and audit controls.
- Review payroll data for accuracy, including new hires, terminations, and adjustments.
- Manage statutory remittances, garnishments, reconciliations, and payroll audits.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll inquiries requiring advanced analysis or legislative interpretation.
- Validate time entries, corrections, and time-off requests to ensure compliance with policy and legislation.
- Maintain accuracy of time codes, pay codes, schedules, and GL accounts.
- Partner with HR to strengthen data integrity across payroll and HR systems and improve data workflows.
- Produce and analyze payroll and HR reports to support audits, compliance reviews, and management decisions.
- Support general ledger reconciliations, bonus and tax programs, and year-end activities.
- Assist with year-end adjustments, vacation accruals, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Payroll, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
- 9+ years of progressive experience in payroll operations, preferably in a large or multi-site organization.
- PCP or PLP certification is a strong asset.
- Proven experience with enterprise HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., SuccessFactors, ADP, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated success in payroll system implementation, automation, and optimization.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (reporting, reconciliations, analysis).
- Solid understanding of Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation and compliance.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems is an asset.
- Ability to foster innovation, lead change, and promote continuous improvement within payroll operations.
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
