Role Description
The Athabasca Education Employment and Development Committee (AEEDC), in partnership with the Ya’thi Néné Land and Resource Office, is seeking an experienced Labour Market Development Specialist to lead a transformative initiative in the Athabasca Basin region.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of workforce development in Northern Saskatchewan by designing and implementing a coordinated Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) strategy. Your work will directly support sustainable, generational employment pathways for Indigenous communities and regional stakeholders.
This full-time contract role will:
✔ Build relationships with northern employers
✔ Collect and analyze labour market information
✔ Support communities, industry, and education partners
✔ Deliver clear reports, briefings, and workshops
✔ Help create long-term employment opportunities for Athabasca residents
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience in labour market intelligence, workforce or economic development.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Expertise in data analysis and reporting.
- Deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and governance, especially in Northern or remote communities.
- Experience in mining, critical minerals, or exploration is a strong asset.
- Post-secondary education in economics, workforce development, business, or related fields.
- Certifications in project management or data analysis are an asset
