WSP’s RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively. Our dynamic team is growing, and we have a new opportunity for an Engineer or Environmental Scientist with 4-6 years of experience to work in a multi-disciplinary team that solves complex issues for our clients throughout Northern Canada Territories. The position is for the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team which has offices across Canada. This role will include the planning and preparation of two annual field programs, the participation in the field programs and the preparation of reports following each field program. Your Impact
- You participate in a team environment, work closely with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.
- You work collaboratively with your team to prepare Health and Safety plans and Emergency response plans for the field programs.
- You train junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc. as well as on site specific health and safety.
- You prepare compile data for, and write, reports including preparing conclusions and recommendations.
- You work with and provide support to other members of the RPM Team in sharing health and safety, project management, project completion and client service responsibilities.
- You work in the field in remote location during two field programs (winter and summer). During those field programs, you work in shifts of approximately two weeks on and two weeks holiday to a maximum of three shifts.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- University degree or diploma in engineering, or natural/earth sciences.
- Minimum 4-6 years of field experience in contaminated site assessments.
- Experience working in remote location and/or camp setting, experience working in the territories is considered a strong asset.
- Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.
- Strong field experience and willingness to work as a team in remote settings.
- Your technical ability to troubleshoot and brainstorm to ensure environmental data collected meet project objectives.
- Professional designation or a professional in training, is preferred.
Compensation:AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $80,800 – $107,000MB & ON: $73,700 – $101,500NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $73,000 – $96,900Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
