WeirFoulds is seeking an associate lawyer to join our thriving Corporate Practice Group, with an emphasis on providing securities advice to public companies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Between 2-4 years of experience working on corporate and securities matters for public corporations
- Some experience representing private and public investment funds, advisers, and dealers in a broad range of transactional, corporate, compliance and registration related matters
- Some experience in blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, and other digital assets is also a benefit
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian securities regulation, including the National Instruments and stock exchange policies
- Excellent drafting skills and familiarity reviewing offering documents, acquisition agreements and listing documents
- Foundational experience in corporate law including diligence, legal research, corporate filings, governance, and drafting documents
- Demonstrated strength in entrepreneurialism including client service, client relationships and business development
- Ability to work with lawyers at all levels and be a team player
- Able to balance competing demands as well as being self-motivated, innovative and flexible
- Confidence to manage files and clients independently
- Strong work ethic, not afraid of hard work and commitment to excellence
The successful candidate will work with members of our Corporate Practice Group representing a variety of private and public corporations on transactions, regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions and financings.
The target salary range for this position is $150,000 - $195,000, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications. This is a replacement role.
