CAD/BIM Designer

Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line and we are currently seeking a CAD Operator

This position is a full-time 100% onsite position at our downtown office.

As the CAD Operator, you will lead the creation of precise engineering designs and drawings. Your role involves interpreting blueprints, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to project standards. Your expertise in AutoCAD and structural engineering technology will be pivotal in facilitating seamless project progression and contributing to successful project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Crafting meticulous engineering designs and drawings tailored specifically for the Ontario Line Project, ensuring precision and adherence to project standards.
• Utilizing your keen eye for detail to interpret blueprints, estimating time requirements accurately for project milestones.
• Multitasking ability: capacity to handle drafting tasks both in-office and on-site, supporting real-time project needs
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, managing multiple drawing revisions while maintaining accuracy
• Generating design sketches and proposals, fueling the creative process while adhering to project parameters and objectives.
• Compiling comprehensive documentation packages and drawing sets, essential for project coordination and execution.
• Conducting thorough examinations of drawings to ensure conformity and pinpoint any potential errors, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
• Collaborating closely with clients, engineers, and production specialists to define project requirements and facilitate seamless project progression.
• Developing construction specifications, estimating costs, and material requirements to support project planning and execution.

Education and Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in civil engineering, architecture, drafting or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD and Revit, preferably in infrastructure or tunnel construction projects
• Ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings that meet project specifications and industry standards
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations for tunnel construction
• Strong ability to work with engineers, architects, and project managers to translate designs into actionable plans
• Familiarity with additional tools such as Civil 3D or Navisworks is a plus
• Project-specific knowledge: understanding of tunnel construction processes, including structural and geotechnical considerations
• AutoCAD Certification, demonstrating mastery in the field of computer-aided design.
• Experience in structural engineering technology, providing valuable insight into the intricacies of construction and design.
• In-depth knowledge of Computer-aided design (CAD), with a strong command of AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
