The Manager, Real Estate is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of core business activities of the department, so as to ensure optimization of use of and returns from VFPA’s real property assets and to ensure timely delivery of land, property rights and commercial agreements required to advance VFPA’s infrastructure projects. What You Do
- Manage the core business activities of the Real Estate Department. This includes responsibility for negotiation of property leases, rent reviews, agreements, evaluations, acquisitions, dispositions, exchanges and payments in lieu of taxes. Ensure compliance by tenants of contractual obligations to VFPA.
- Formulate strategies, manage and deliver special land programs and initiatives required to advance VFPA’s infrastructure projects, as assigned.
- Oversee the timely collection of revenues and ensure availability of adequate cash flows from rentals. Explore new revenue growth opportunities from real property assets.
- Formulate, review and monitor various departmental processes, land management and pricing policies and strategies designed to ensure VFPA’s real property assets are maximized and protected.
- Manage and deliver special land management programs and initiatives.
- Ensure accurate property records are properly maintained in department using corporate filing and property management systems.
- Establish and track key performance indicators for the department’s property administrative functions.
- Participate in the development of departmental plans and be responsible for the development and implementation of activities and programs designed to meet the intention of specific strategic priorities.
- Participate as a member of various management and inter-departmental teams in the planning, implementation and management of business initiatives.
What You Bring
- Appropriate university degree in real estate, business or law.
- A minimum of 5 years related experience at a management level, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Must have strong negotiations skills, a solid background in industrial or commercial real estate, leasehold administration and property management systems and ideally experience in development or infrastructure projects.
- Must have a working understanding of real estate analysis including valuation principles and computer proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
