**Data Developer (ETL / SQL / BI)Location:**7000 - 113 Street Edmonton, Alberta, CAN, T6H 5T6
Project Overview:Justice Information Management System (JIMS) 3.0 is a data integration project designed to consolidate several disjointed reporting data marts into a modern, efficient Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). This role plays a critical part in ETL planning, design, and testing efforts while analyzing and re-structuring legacy court data from the Justice Online Information Network (JOIN).
Role Description:
This Data Developer will work closely with Senior Data Architects and will focus on:
- Profiling, mapping, and migrating legacy data marts into a new data warehouse structure
- Designing and developing ETL processes
- Creating and testing Dimensions and Fact tables
- Analyzing large volumes of legacy data and ensuring business alignment
- Collaborating across technical and business teams for data quality assurance
Responsibilities:
- Deliver application programming tasks in line with business and technical requirements
- Analyze and document requirements, develop SQL queries and ETL logic
- Build reusable components (views, stored procedures, tables, batch jobs)
- Perform unit, system, and integration testing
- Document technical design and maintain project artifacts
- Support go-live and post-deployment efforts, including bug fixing and optimization
- Liaise with stakeholders and provide reports/status updates
Required Qualifications (Must Have):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Eligible for Enhanced Security Clearance (includes Criminal & Credit Check)
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- 5+ years of hands-on ETL development
- 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing or Business Intelligence (BI) projects
- 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Application Development
- 5+ years of experience creating technical documentation and user training materialsPreferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- 3+ years of experience with Agile methodologies
- 3+ years performing smoke, unit, system, and integration testing
- 3+ years working on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for large, complex projects
- 3+ years of experience in public sector environments
