Who we are?
The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).
What is the project?
The Ontario Line (“OL”) is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (“NC”) project consists of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract (“PTUS”), with supporting Early Works.
What is the Opportunity?
The ideal candidate will collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure
accurate 3D modeling, coordination, and clash detection. This role requires expertise in BIM
software, industry standards, and a strong understanding of construction workflows.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clash detection: Perform regular clash detection analysis from Designer and RSSOM
- (Rolling Stock, System, and Maintenance Contractor).
- Validate clash detection reports: Review and verify clash detection outputs from or design teams for accuracy and relevance.
- Manage issue resolution: Track, prioritize, and communicate clashes or issues to relevant parties, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor issue/clash KPIs: Develop and report Key Performance Indicators related to clash detection, issue resolution timelines, and model quality.
- Track and close out issues: Coordinate with project stakeholders to resolve identified clashes or discrepancies, ensuring documentation of outcomes.
- Serve as central BIM contact: Act as the primary liaison for subcontractors’ BIM and VDC teams.
- Facilitate model sharing: Oversee the secure and efficient exchange of models between project teams, ensuring version control and compatibility.
- Develop BIM protocols: Establish and enforce BIM execution plans, workflows, and standards for consistency across the project.
- Support training and onboarding: Assist team members and subcontractors in understanding BIM tools, processes, and project-specific requirements.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary models: Ensure integration and alignment of architectural, structural, MEP, and other discipline-specific models.
Work Conditions
- Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
- Office-based: Don Mills Area, North York Next to Science Centre
- Full-time position with standard business hours; may require overtime to meet project deadlines.
You’ll bring to the Team (Knowledge, Skills, Competencies)
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in BIM coordination or a related role.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM-related software.
- Experience with clash detection, model validation, and coordination.
- Knowledge of construction processes, codes, and industry standards.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
- Experience with Common Data Environments (CDEs) and cloud-based collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
