On behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding leader in the transportation sector, we are seeking a Vice President of Operations to join the executive team at a pivotal stage of growth. This is not a role for a purely strategic executive operating from a distance—this is for a hands-on, “boots-on-the-ground” operator who thrives in the field, builds credibility with teams, and leads from the front.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Operations will take full ownership of operational performance, driving revenue, profitability, and executional excellence across a multi-site, 24/7 environment. This role offers the opportunity to shape the next phase of growth, influence strategic direction, and leave a lasting operational legacy.
What You Will Be Responsible ForDriving Growth & Operational Excellence
- Lead and execute a scalable operational strategy aligned with aggressive growth objectives
- Own end-to-end operational performance across multiple locations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and accountability
- Identify and unlock revenue opportunities through improved service delivery and operational discipline
Hands-On Leadership in the Field
- Be highly visible and present working closely with General Managers and frontline teams
- Diagnose operational challenges in real time and implement practical, results-driven solutions
- Build trust and credibility by leading from the ground up, not just from the boardroom
Execution Over Theory
- Establish and refine processes, systems, and KPIs that drive measurable outcomes
- Ensure seamless day-to-day operations while continuously improving performance standards
- Maintain a strong pulse on safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Financial & Commercial Accountability
- Partner closely with Finance to drive profitability, cost control, and disciplined budgeting
- Translate operational performance into tangible financial outcomes
- Contribute to broader business initiatives including expansion, acquisitions, and partnerships

- Develop, mentor, and elevate a high-performing operations leadership team
- Instil a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Play a key role in attracting and retaining top operational talent
What We Are Looking For
- Proven senior operations leadership experience (Director, VP, or equivalent) within complex, multi-site environments
- A hands-on operator—someone who has built their career in the field and remains deeply connected to execution
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or similarly fast-paced, asset-heavy industries is highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to scale operations in a high-growth environment
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving revenue and profitability
- A formal degree is required (Business, Operations, or related discipline); advanced education is considered an asset
- A natural leader who earns respect through action, not title
Why This Opportunity
- Be part of a high-growth organization with strong momentum and clear ambition
- Work directly with an engaged and forward-thinking CEO
- Take on a role with real influence—where your decisions shape outcomes
- Lead from a Surrey-based head office, with regular travel across Western Canada and the U.S.
If you are an operationally driven executive who takes pride in being present, accountable, and impactful—this is an opportunity to build something meaningful and lead from the front.
