The firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Lawyer to support a wide range of complex real estate matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, advising clients on real estate transactions, and managing legal issues related to property acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development. This role involves close collaboration with clients to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including data privacy requirements, and may include representation in legal proceedings where required. Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and real estate agreements
- Provide legal advice on commercial real estate transactions
- Manage matters involving property acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development
- Identify and resolve complex legal issues related to real estate matters
- Advise clients on regulatory compliance, including data privacy considerations
- Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders throughout transactions
- Support or represent clients in legal proceedings, when required
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in law with in-depth understanding of legal principles and procedures
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical legal solutions
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations relevant to commercial real estate
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate law
