About the role

We are seeking an Associate Lawyer with 2-4 years of experience to join a growing condominium law practice. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in condominium, real estate, commercial litigation, civil litigation, or a related practice area and enjoy a diverse practice involving both solicitor and litigation work.

Responsibilities

  • Advise condominium corporations, boards, property managers, and unit owners on governance, bylaws, policies, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide practical legal guidance on operational and day-to-day condominium matters.
  • Draft and review agreements, management contracts, bylaws, policies, and related legal documents.
  • Assist with enforcement matters, collections, governance disputes, and bylaw interpretation.
  • Represent clients in condominium disputes, governance challenges, construction-related matters, collections, and related proceedings.
  • Assist with condominium termination matters.
  • Attend board and client meetings, mediations, examinations, and court appearances as required.
  • Manage files independently while collaborating with colleagues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of legal experience.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta or eligible for immediate membership.
  • Experience in condominium law, real estate law, commercial litigation, civil litigation, or a related practice area is an asset.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage files independently and meet competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical, client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a professional and fast-paced environment.
