SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. Director, Land Services directs and provides leadership for the Land, Crossings and Public Awareness departments. This position provides direction, coaching and leadership within these areas, ensuring the business units operate effectively and in alignment with the Corporate Plan. This includes oversight of all corporate land acquisitions, negotiations, and risk mitigation with regards to litigation. The Director is responsible for ensuring economical and effective solutions in accordance with regulatory standards and aligned with corporate strategic direction. Position Details

Key Accountabilities
- Oversee and ensure the Corporation's requirements for securing land rights are met and that negotiations and relations with property owners and tenants are conducted in a professional and effective manner with optimum cost-effectiveness and minimal disputes, expropriations, or arbitrated resolutions.
- Direct the Crossing Coordination team, ensuring key deliverables are met and that processes, systems and technology are used to maximize customer experience and safety.
- Direct and provide leadership for assessing and settling damage claims resulting from construction and operational activities.
- Lead, coach and direct team leaders responsible for managing the land records system to record corporate land rights, ensuring accurate, current and accessible records are maintained.
- Direct and provide leadership for the review, acquisition, and management of property rights on and near First Nations Reserves and provide direction with respect to negotiations with both land code and non-land code Bands.
- Direct and oversee the administration of periodic payments to external parties for existing land rights obligations, including maintaining corporate land rights records, ensuring accurate Treaty Land Entitlement process administration, issuing surface and mineral lease payments, payment of property taxes, payment of annual mitigation payments and monitoring and reviewing notification documentations, settlements, and legal documentations.
- Lead and promote the delivery of various public awareness programs, ensuring the public is aware and knowledgeable of safety concerns related to corporate facilities.
- Lead and engage in relationships with community and industry stakeholders such as landowners, community groups, emergency responders, local government officials and pipeline companies to develop and encourage positive reception of corporate awareness programs regarding plans and facilities.
- Lead, coach, and direct team leaders responsible for overseeing and delivering the Crossing Coordination for all assets under management including SaskEnergy and all its subsidiaries.
- Establish and manage the local operating budget for the Land, Crossings and Public Awareness departments, as well as capital accounts where required.
- Monitor performance outcomes and team effectiveness, with a strong focus on accountability to ensure goals and objectives translate to the desired outcomes.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Degree in Business Administration or Commerce, or an Agriculture or Land Agent Diploma.
- Ten (10) years of experience in property acquisition.
- Senior Right of Way designation would be considered and asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor employees while building and maintaining effective relationships and empowering team members to succeed.
- Ability to foster a culture focused on innovation and teamwork.
- Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered. Additional Information
- Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
- A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
