About the Opportunity

As an Industrial Appraiser, you’ll play a key role in shaping fair and accurate property assessments for the Industrial Unit. This full-time role offers a unique balance of fieldwork and office-based analysis, giving you the chance to see projects through from first inspection to final valuation.

What You’ll Do

·        Apply mass appraisal principles and procedures to determine values of heavy industrial properties.

·        Input and process collected valuation data into the Agency’s mass appraisal computer system.

·        Research and respond to enquiries from the external company representatives and government officials.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who brings both an aptitude for technical knowledge and strong people skills to the role. The ideal candidate has:

·        Formal assessment education, a university degree or a post-secondary diploma from a recognized institution.

·        Excellent public relations and communication skills.

·        Ability to exercise good judgement to make sound decisions.

·        Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook).

·        A valid class five (5) driver’s licence and the ability to travel throughout the province are position requirements.

·        Preference may be given to candidates with industrial assessment experience or to candidates with experience in a heavy industrial work environment.

·        The successful candidate will be trained in First Aid, H2S Alive, and WHMIS.

Both a cover letter and resume will be used in the screening process. Candidates under consideration may be required to participate in a numeracy, mathematical, and/or computer proficiency assessment to determine position suitability.
