About the Role

Rybka Group is looking for a Mechanical Designer or Engineer to join our growing buildings team and help shape the future of sustainable, high-performance buildings. This role is suited to experienced intermediate professionals ready to take on more responsibility, or senior engineers looking to lead and mentor within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to the design of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for diverse building projects.
  • Develop detailed designs, specifications, and technical drawings in coordination with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants.
  • Perform system calculations, equipment selection, and energy modeling.
  • Support project delivery from concept through construction, including site reviews and commissioning support.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to the development of best practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Building Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design for buildings.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical design/calculation software.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and sustainable design principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Eligible for or currently holding P.Eng. or CET designation.
  • Experience with energy modelling, LEED, or Net Zero Project will be considered as an asset.
