The Designer, Production is responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate construction drawings for residential projects, ensuring they align with architectural standards, municipal regulations, and internal design guidelines. This role plays a key part in translating product concepts into build-ready documentation, collaborating closely with drafting, construction, estimating, and permitting teams. The Designer supports both new model development and ongoing updates to existing plans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and coordination across all disciplines involved in the homebuilding process. Key ResponsibilitiesWorking Drawings & Design Development

  • Prepare and maintain accurate construction drawings, including floorplans, elevations, sections, and site plans.
  • Apply design standards, architectural guidelines, and redline markups to ensure plans are build-ready.
  • Update model drawings to reflect new product features, structural changes, or municipal requirements.
  • Ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and version control across all active projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to align designs with project goals.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and address drawing-related questions during construction.
  • Participate in design reviews and model development meetings to improve product offerings.
  • Coordinate with engineers and consultants to incorporate structural and mechanical elements into final plans.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all drawings comply with municipal zoning, architectural controls, and building code requirements.
  • Prepare permit-ready drawing sets and support timely submissions to municipalities or developers.
  • Maintain organized digital records of plans, templates, and approvals.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update standard plans and documentation accordingly.
