Interior Designer

Junior/Intermediate Interior Designer - High-rise, Hospitality, Retail

Our client, an award-winning international design firm located in Toronto is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join their team. The position is paying $55-$75k+ depending on experience, plus benefits and many other perks!

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in multi-family residential, hospitality and/or retail design
• Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design
• Strong knowledge of the design process (FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, colour and materials)
• Knowledge of OBC
• Proficient with AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite
• Revit & VC-Ray an asset
• Experience with large-scale projects
• Strong technical design abilities
• Strong communication skills
• Adept at multi-tasking with exceptional organizational abilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work with team to establish scope of work
• Brainstorm with team to develop concepts, themes and ideas
• Attends client presentation meetings
• Prepare conceptual drawings
• Delegates work to junior designers
• Coordinates and develops: demolition, construction, RCP, flooring, fixtures, furniture, finishes, power and communication plans, elevations and millwork details,
• Ensures all drawings meet building code requirements
• Assist with the tendering process (act as liaison between the office and contractors, consultants and client
• Reviews bid documents with senior staff
• Conducts site walks throughs and manages deficiencies
