Raise is currently hiring a Mechanical Specialist on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable. Description The Mechanical Specialist, in this role will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and documenting maintenance strategies across the organization heavy industrial operations. This is a technical position focused on improving asset reliability, ensuring optimal spare parts management, and standardizing maintenance practices. This role is primarily remote, however will require occasional travel to site locations for hands-on review, auditing, and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities
- Maintenance Strategy Optimization: Modify and optimize existing maintenance plans (task lists, procedures, frequencies) based on operational feedback, asset performance data, and reliability analysis.
- Asset Performance Management (APM): Develop and maintain technical content and data within Bentley APM (Asset Performance Management) software.
- SAP Documentation: Create, review, and maintain supporting technical documentation within SAP (e.g., master data, bill of materials, maintenance plans).
- Spare Parts Management: Review maintenance plans and usage data to ensure the accuracy and optimal availability of critical spare parts inventories.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, historical maintenance records, and operational information to inform maintenance strategy development.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate proposed changes, rationale, and requirements to site maintenance teams, operations personnel, and other key site stakeholders.
- Maintenance Strategy Development: Apply reliability principles to develop new and robust maintenance strategies for mechanical assets to improve uptime and reduce life-cycle costs.
Qualifications
- (4- 9 years ) Intermediate or (10+ yrs) Senior of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering roles within a heavy industrial setting.
- Proven experience working in heavy industry (e.g., mining, nuclear, power generation, oil & gas) in a maintenance or reliability capacity.
- Expert knowledge of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and other best-practice maintenance methodologies.
- Demonstrated proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance module and experience working with APM software (e.g., Bentley APM, Meridium, Maximo).
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals to extract critical maintenance information.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- A combination of relevant trade certification (e.g., Journeyperson Millwright) and extensive relevant experience may be considered.
