As a member of the Client Development & Marketing team in Toronto, reporting to the Manager, Client Events, the Events Specialist’s responsibilities will include planning, coordinating and executing on all client events (in-person and virtual), client social events and sponsorships. This job posting is for an existing vacancy. Major Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager, Client Events in the planning, coordination and execution of client events including seminars, webinars, client social events and sponsorships (in-person and virtual)
  • Work directly with partners and business development on the creation of event briefing documents to ensure that event objectives and goals are understood
  • Manage virtual event technology requirements including the firm CRM, CMS (WordPress), Zoom and our preferred webinar planform, ON24
  • Train lawyers and guests on how to use the ON24 webinar platform – manage all event logistics the day of
  • Coordinate with our writing team on the drafting of event invitations
  • Compile and analyze post-event surveys and feedback and arrange appropriate follow-up
  • Continually evaluate our client event offerings to ensure they are on brand and consistent in delivery
  • Source and develop strong relationships with external vendors in support of the firm’s event program
  • Some overtime is required (executing evening social events)

Position Requirements Education and Experience This position requires a college diploma or university degree, and a minimum of 3 years of experience planning and executing events, ideally in a corporate environment. Experience with event technology including ON24, Zoom is required. Experience with Marketing CMS is strongly desired. Experience in a legal or professional services environment is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be acceptable. Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong event management background (preferably in a corporate environment) with a demonstrated knowledge of event planning and management principles, methods and techniques
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to take ownership of projects, as well as multi-tasking multiple concurrent events.
  • Superior accuracy, attention to detail, creativity, time-management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Creative flair and interest in creating new client events and experiences
  • Bilingual (English/French) considered a strong asset

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week. Compensation The range of expected compensation for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
