IT Security Engineer (35064)

Our Government of Canada client is seeking an IT Security Engineer to support a large-scale ERP modernization initiative within a government environment. The role focuses on establishing a consistent, risk-based approach to securing cloud-enabled ERP platforms, integrations, and data across the enterprise. MUST HAVE SECRET CLEARANCE in place Responsibilities

• Provide IT security engineering support across ERP platforms and integrations
• Apply and assess security standards, protocols, and technologies
• Manage and maintain security configurations aligned with policies and standards
• Analyze security tools and recommend effective solutions
• Prepare technical documentation (solution analysis, implementation plans)
• Support IT security audits, IV&V activities, and compliance reviews
• Review and advise on contingency, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans
• Conduct security testing and support project oversight
• Develop and deliver security training materials

Requirements

• Strong experience in IT security engineering within complex environments
• Knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP/S, SFTP, SOAP, REST, Web Services)
• Experience with security protocols (IPSec, IPv6, SSL, SSH, TCP/IP)
• Understanding of DNS, NTP, and network infrastructure (routers, switches)
• Experience with intrusion detection/prevention, firewalls, and cryptography
• Ability to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and implement mitigation strategies
• Experience supporting audits, IV&V, and security compliance
• Experience in ERP or large-scale transformation environments preferred
