Position Description As a Shipping/Crane Operator Leadhand, you will be accountable to:
- Guide, motivate, and train junior material handlers; lead by example in performing tasks.
- Load, unload, move, sort, count, weigh, and pack/unpack materials using hand tools or equipment.
- Maintain accurate stock records, track shortages, perform cycle counts, and report needs to supervisors.
- Pull, pack, and stage orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy.
- Verify incoming/outgoing deliveries, inspect equipment, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and maintain a clean work area.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Report issues, track inventory, and collaborate with other departments.
- Compliance with health and safety
Key Responsibilities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Forklift operator experience (preferred)
- Overhead crane experience (preferred)
- Computer skills / Microsoft Office
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Physical stamina, strength, and coordination.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to take direction and lead others.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
