Type: Full-time, permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week (core hours Mon – Fri 930am – 230pm)

Location: Hybrid | Burnaby office on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (additional in-office details below)

Salary: $58,000 - $64,000 - $70,000 per year (pay range explained below)


The Role

The Benefits Administrator supports the delivery and administration of MABC’s member benefits, insurance, and related programs by ensuring accurate enrollment, income updates, terminations, member record changes, claims administration support, reporting, and ongoing communication with members and service providers. This role is responsible for maintaining member service, accurate documentation, timely follow-up, and compliance with applicable organizational, funder, regulatory, and privacy requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Administer group health benefit programs, including extended health care, dental, life insurance, critical illness, and short-term and long-term disability enrollment applications for membership and staff
  • Manage member accounts, including status changes, terminations, and the addition or removal of the dependents and beneficiaries
  • Act as first contact point for member inquiries, providing account information and updates, and helping members navigate and submit claims
  • Develop and deliver communication materials to educate members and employees
  • Prepare monthly status reports
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of benefit statements and invoices, working with the Finance Team to investigate and resolve discrepancies and ensure payment and documentation accuracy
  • Recommend enhancements to benefit programs based on member feedback and interactions
  • Maintains supporting documentation, updates applicable tracking records, and saves correspondence


What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field or a combination of education, training and experience
  • At least 2+ years of experience of administering group benefits, or employee health plans and working with insurance companies, benefit consultants and administrators
  • Experience with HRIS systems and benefits management software
  • Group Benefit Associate (GBA) and Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) would be considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
  • Professional tact and diplomacy, and confidentiality are required


Compensation & Benefits

Salary of $58,000 - $64,000 - $70,000 per year - The Pay Range shows the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full-time equivalent hours.

Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements as well as internal equity.
