Position Summary Are you a strong writer and natural organizer who keeps projects moving? Passionate about sustainability and eager to contribute to ESG reporting, stakeholder communications, and day-to-day support within a highly collaborative, matrixed team? Methanex Corporation is seeking a Sustainability and Communications Coordinator for our Vancouver office. This position reports to the Manager, Corporate Sustainability, with a matrix relationship to the Director, Global Communications, and provides strategic support for corporate sustainability initiatives and key global communications programs. You’ll partner with the Corporate Sustainability and Global Communications teams to manage the annual Sustainability Report and related materials, respond to ESG ratings and information requests, assist with the global corporate community investment program and other sustainability initiatives, and draft/edit content for internal and external channels (including the company website), while keeping day-to-day work on track. As a key member of both teams, the Sustainability and Communications Coordinator helps deliver core objectives by maintaining strong organization, managing administrative workflows, and supporting daily execution. Position Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToSustainability Report Coordination
- Coordinate the annual Sustainability Reporting (cycle runs ~Sept to April annually) with direction from Manager, Corporate Sustainability
- Work with external design and copy partners; align schedules with internal subject matter experts; track design, review, and final deadlines; coordinate Responsible Care data inputs; maintain an accurate audit trail with the Finance team; and help align key messages.
- Prepare and organize supplementary communications materials that are published alongside the Sustainability Report.
ESG Ratings and Information Request Management
- Submit and validate ESG data for ratings agencies and respond to investor, customer, and other information requests.
- Monitor ESG changes in ratings and identify areas of improvement.
- Liaise with Investor Relations and Marketing & Logistics teams on incoming ESG information requests.
Regional stakeholder relations support
- Assist the Manager, Stakeholder Relations with the regional community investment program and alignment with the Community Giving Standard.
- Support Responsible Care with quarterly community investment data collection and verification from regional teams.
Writing and Content Managementfor Global Communications Programs
- Draft and update content for internal and external channels, aligned with the company’s brand and tone of voice.
- Contribute to internal and external communications plans for key global projects.
- Support Global Communications team members in writing and editing for other global communications projects.
Communications Channel Support
- Develop and maintain key communications materials for the company’s website.
- Maintain oversight of the company’s website to support consistent, aligned messaging and content.
- Contribute to the development of internal video vignettes.
- Provide guidance and support to regional communications teams, as required.
- Assist the Senior Communications Specialist with channel metrics analysis and related recommendations.
- Keep key messages current across the company’s core communications channels.
Administrative supportandProject Coordination
- Provide coordination and technical assistance to the Manager, Corporate Sustainability for sustainability activities, as needed.
- Process expenses and invoices, and coordinate occasional travel for the Manager, Corporate Sustainability and the Director, Global Communications.
- Support data verification, maintain accurate audit trails, and coordinate presentations and events, as required.
Position QualificationsEducation and/or Professional Designation
- University degree in sustainability, communications, business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience And Technical Skills/Knowledge
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in a business or corporate environment (or equivalent experience).
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, audience-appropriate content.
- Project coordination experience, including working with cross-functional partners and managing timelines and deliverables.
- Experience supporting sustainability reporting and/or coordinating annual filings is an asset.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to collect, consolidate, model, and analyze data independently.
- Interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience building effective working relationships in a matrixed organization.
- Knowledge of communications tools, channels, and best practices.
